Exemplar recordings
Introduction
From time to time Raven customers request exemplar recordings for various animals or other sound sources. While the Center for Conservation Bioacoustics does not provide that service, we can recommend other services.
Sources of Exemplar Recordings
- Raven Pro and Raven Lite come packaged with a small collection example sounds for demonstration and teaching purposes. Look in the “Examples” folder in Raven’s user data folder.
- The Macaulay Library is the world’s premier scientific archive of natural history audio, video, and photographs. Although the Macaulay Library’s history is rooted in birds, the collection includes amphibians, fishes, and mammals, and the collection preserves recordings of each species’ behavior and natural history. Access to audio and video recordings in the archive is available for research, educational, and commercial use.
- The AudioSet dataset is a large-scale collection of human-labeled 10-second sound clips drawn from YouTube videos
