Adding Measurements to Detector Output
Introduction
Many Raven Pro users who use batch mode detection ask if it’s possible to have Raven automatically add measurements while the detector is running so they don’t have to open the selection tables one by one to add measurements.
Solution
The secret is to create a custom window preset with the desired measurements and set that custom window preset as your default window preset. For details, see Window Preset. Detectors run in batch detection mode will then add those measurements to all selection tables they write.
Many Raven Pro users prefer to open all sound files they recorded for a deployment at a given site into a single sound window so they can use full detection mode rather than batch detection mode. That way, adding measurements and other changes to the selection table can be performed quickly and simply after the detector has finished running, since the output selections for all sound files will appear in the same selection table. This practice leads to many other efficiencies as well. For details, see Best Practices for Data Management.
