Linux Installation of Raven Workbench Apps
Introduction
This article discusses how to install the four Raven Workbench apps in Ubuntu. We have not tested installation on other Linux distributions.

- Raven Expedition
- Raven Annotate

Installation Instructions
- Go to the web page of the Raven Workbench app you want to install
- Download the Linux installer.
- Open the Files app. Navigate to the “Downloads” folder.
- Right-click the downloaded installer and select “Open with Another Application”.
- Select “Software install”.
- Click the “Install” button. The app will be installed in /opt.
- To install a desktop icon that will make it easier to open the app:
- In the Files app, navigate to /usr/share/applications.
- Copy the file with the name of the app you just installed to your Desktop.
- Right-click the desktop icon and select “Allow Launching”. You should now be able to double-click the icon to open the app.
- To add the proper Raven Workbench image to your new desktop icon:
- Right-click the desktop icon and select “Properties”.
- In the “Basic” tab, click the blank image with a gear at the top.
- Navigate to /opt/<app name>/lib, where <app name> is the name of the Raven Workbench app you just installed.
- Select the .png file with the Raven image and click the “Open” button. Your new desktop icon should look like a Raven now.
